Why have a Personal Trainer

When I tell people what I do for a living, I am often asked, “why would people need a personal trainer?”

In their eyes, there are endless cheaper or free fitness options out there available at a touch of a button?” They are not wrong and their logic is sound.

There are countless other options out there and the majority of them COST far less and are possibly more accessible than Personal Training- PT.

However, my response is almost always the same. I ask them “what is their health, fitness and quality of life WORTH?”

I explain that PT is an investment! One that pays dividends to them and their loved ones for the rest of their life.

Reasons people seek out a Personal Trainer

  1. Busy professionals that are time-poor want a professional to ensure they maximise the time they do have available for exercise.

  2. Busy people that recognise the benefits of hiring a specialist to improve overall performance

  3. The individual knows they lack the knowledge on what is best to do and feel overwhelmed by this.

  4. They want to hand over the responsibility of their exercise needs and the anxiety that comes with this to a professional.

  5. The person wants to become a more effective exerciser and recognises that paying a professional with years of experience is the safest and quickest way of doing this.

  6. They prefer the personal touch and an environment that is not crowded or intimidating.

  7. They have an injury or a condition which makes exercise even more challenging and with the peace of mind of knowing any exercise prescription given is appropriate and will not harm them.

  8. They need/desire an accountability framework that will keep them on target with their health and fitness aspirations.
