Gus' Approach to Training

My approach is simple:  I look at the you (the individual) and the goal you wish to achieve, then together we design a plan that not only gets you there, but compliments your health and fitness for the rest of your life.

All the factors that effect your health | Gus Martin

Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Mentor, Nutritional Therapist and Functional Medicine Practitioner are all part of skillsets that I employ when I take on the role of your coach. Your goal set will determine which approach I lean towards most, but it is my ability to put information into action that sets me apart from the many. Failure to achieve this means results do not follow.

I don’t believe in short-cuts, fads or pseudoscience. What I do believe in is: self-discovery, hard work and a relentless desire to improve. This recipe to success has been backed up with years of experience.

All my clients are individuals and, as such, there are no one-size-fits-all solutions. Each approach is unique and you will be fully involved in the decision making process. It is your journey after all. I am firm believer in that the best plan is one that you can stick to, but I am also a firm believer in those who work with me must be willing to step out of their comfort zone. If we want to change then we must change the habits that have brought us to where we are.

I expect a lot from clients, but I also recognise that change is a tough process. I am here for you every step of the way and I can promise you that all the hard work you put in will be worth the sacrifice.

Transforming your health and your physique leads to an incredible feeling of empowerment and is truly life changing. It leaves you in control of your health - a feeling that cannot be understated.

A large majority of my clients come to me after working with other practitioners  (personal trainers, nutritionists and even those in the NHS) where the outcome they desired has not materialised. Often this comes down to a mismatch between coach and client and applying the wrong approach.  Everyone is an individual and adopting the right approach is critical.

My approach is isn’t for everybody. There will be both push and pull - you will be challenged. If you are not afraid of hard work, can be patient and are fully committed to the process, then you can achieve anything.
