Who’s in the CGM Community? Probably People a Lot Like You

There’s sometimes an assumption that joining a fitness community means surrounding yourself with people who live and breathe fitness.

People who meal prep every Sunday.

People who never miss a workout.

People who’d rather spend Saturday morning in the gym than Friday night in the pub.

That’s not the CGM community.

The people I work with have jobs. Careers they’ve worked hard for. Businesses they’ve built. Families they love. Busy social lives. Holidays. Meals out. Kids to ferry around. And about 47 other things competing for their attention at any given moment.

In most areas of their lives, they’re doing pretty bloody well.

But somewhere along the way, their own health and fitness has slipped down the priority list.

Sound familiar?

You’re successful. But are you looking after yourself?

This is something I see all the time.

You’re capable of putting a huge amount of effort into your career, your business and your family.

You turn up for other people.

You get stuff done.

But when it comes to looking after yourself?

That somehow becomes the thing you’ll get around to when life calms down.

And we all know how that goes.

Maybe you’re not as fit as you used to be.

Maybe you’re carrying a bit more body fat than you’d like.

Maybe your energy isn’t where it should be.

Maybe you look at old photos and wonder when exactly you stopped feeling like that version of yourself.

Or maybe, on paper, everything is going brilliantly. But physically and mentally, you know there’s another level in you.

That’s exactly the type of person I work with.

You don’t need to completely change your life

One of the biggest misconceptions about getting fit is that you need to become a completely different person.

You don’t.

I don’t want fitness to take over your life.

If you enjoy going out for dinner, keep going.

If you like a few beers at the weekend, have them.

If you’ve got a demanding job, I’m not going to tell you that you need to spend two hours in the gym every day.

And I definitely don’t expect you to become someone who talks about their macros at dinner parties.

The point is to get fitter, stronger and healthier while still enjoying everything you’ve worked hard to build.

Fitness should make your life better.

It shouldn’t become your entire life.

That’s where the CGM community comes in

Getting yourself fit is much easier when you’re surrounded by other people trying to do the same thing.

Not fitness fanatics.

Normal people with busy lives.

People who understand that sometimes work gets mental.

People whose kids have kept them awake all night.

People who’ve had a crap week but still turn up.

And people who’ll give you a bit of encouragement — or a kick up the arse — when you need it.

That’s what we’re building with the CGM community.

We train together with two FREE community sessions every week.

We have walking challenges to get everyone moving.

We have a WhatsApp community for support, accountability, advice and, inevitably, a fair bit of banter.

And we help each other keep moving forward.

Because doing it alone is bloody hard

You probably already know that moving more is good for you.

You know that getting stronger would be a good idea.

You know roughly what foods you should probably be eating more or less of.

Information usually isn’t the problem.

Actually doing it consistently when work is busy, the kids need you, you’ve got plans all weekend and sitting on the sofa sounds considerably more appealing than training?

That’s the difficult bit.

Having other people around you who are doing the same thing makes a difference.

You’ve got people to train with.

People to learn from.

People to keep you accountable.

And people who notice when you’ve disappeared.

Sometimes that little bit of support is exactly what you need to keep going.

Maybe it’s time you went back on your own priority list

You don’t need to give up your social life.

You don’t need to spend your life in the gym.

You don’t need to eat perfectly.

And you definitely don’t need to become obsessed with fitness.

You just need to decide that YOU deserve to be somewhere near the top of your own priority list again.

Because looking after your health isn’t selfish.

Getting fitter, stronger and healthier means having more energy for your family, performing better at work and actually being able to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to create.

And you don’t have to do it on your own.

If the CGM community sounds like your kind of people, come and join us.
