Why a Six-Week Fitness Programme Can Be So Powerful

Let’s get one thing straight from the start.

You are not going to do a six-week fitness programme, completely transform your life and then go straight back to doing everything you were doing before.

That’s ridiculous.

A six-week programme isn’t a magic fix. It isn’t a crash diet. And it definitely isn’t about smashing yourself in the gym for six weeks, losing a few pounds and then forgetting about the whole thing.

It’s a reboot.

And sometimes, a reboot is exactly what you need.

Had a good summer? Brilliant.

Summer has a habit of knocking routines sideways.

Holidays. BBQs. Beers. Meals out. Weekends away. Less training. More socialising.

And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying yourself.

But there comes a point when you look in the mirror, your jeans feel a bit tighter and you think:

Right. I need to sort my shit out.

September is actually a brilliant time to do it.

The holidays are over, life starts getting back into a routine and you’ve got a decent stretch of time before Christmas comes along and tries to derail you all over again.

The question is: what are you going to do with it?

Why six weeks?

Six weeks is long enough to make a real difference, but short enough that you can get your head around committing to it.

You’re not telling yourself you’re never going to have a takeaway again.

You’re not promising to train six days a week for the rest of your life.

You’re simply saying:

For the next six weeks, I’m going to make myself a priority and get back on track.

And a lot can happen in that time.

You can get fitter. You can get stronger. You can lose some of the weight you’ve put on. You can improve your nutrition. You can sleep better. You can get your energy back.

But the biggest change isn’t necessarily what happens on the scales.

It’s what happens to your habits.

The goal isn’t six weeks. The goal is what happens afterwards.

This is the important bit.

A good six-week fitness programme should give you the structure and accountability to start doing the things you already know you should probably be doing.

Training consistently.

Eating better.

Moving more.

Making better choices more often.

Getting out of that cycle of saying, “I’ll start again on Monday.”

Do those things consistently for six weeks and they start becoming part of your normal routine.

And THAT is where the long-term results come from.

I’m not interested in helping you lose a load of weight for six weeks only for you to put it all back on again.

I want you to use those six weeks to build a foundation that you can keep going with.

You don’t need to be perfect

This isn’t about living like a monk.

You can still have a beer. You can still go out for dinner. You can still have a life.

Because if your fitness regime only works when your life is absolutely perfect, it’s not much use, is it?

The aim is to learn how to make better choices most of the time.

That’s how you create something sustainable.

So, are you ready for a reboot?

If you’ve had a brilliant summer but you know you’ve let things slide a bit, don’t spend the next three months thinking about doing something about it.

Do something.

My next M2M and D2D six-week programmes start in September and they’re designed to give you the structure, accountability and kick up the arse you need to get moving again.

Not a quick fix.

Not six weeks and you’re done.

Six weeks to reboot, build better habits and start making changes that actually last.
